I know you say you don't produce books to lose money but for a #1 why don't you put it a $2.99 and have it slightly extended in terms of page count?

Because we’re not in business to lose money.

And a look at the sales ranking shows pretty concretely that readers aren’t necessarily more likely to buy a cheaper book. The $2.99 price point is not a great enough incentive to purchase unto itself.
