A good writer should be able to find the voice of any character. I think you pander too much to your writers. Im Sure if you asked a truly skilled writer to write an Aquarian story they could find an interesting angle. Especially when your reasoning leads to the same old tired characters in multiple books with nothing new being brought to the table. Really though lets face it. With the rotating creative teams on the other other xbooks the Bendis ones are the only ones that seem to matter.
Those “same old tired” characters to which you refer are the most popular characters in the industry. And while you may be tired with them, the audience as a whole clearly is not.
There’s nothing in the world wrong with doing an Aquarian story. But you must surely realize that the number of people hungering for an Aquarian story is far, far smaller than the number of people who are interested in reading another Spider-Man story, or Black Widow story, or Storm story.
