Tom, I'm having a hard time finding an issue of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN at a good asking price. (#238 to be exact). I really want it yet I find it hard to believe the issue is worth anything close to $150. What is your best guess for this issue in a near-mint or even good quality? Thanks, you're the bee's knees! Keep it up!
I am hardly an expert when it comes to questions of value or back issue prices. My standard response is that it’s worth what you (or somebody) is willing to pay.
So my first question is why do you want that issue? Do you want it as an object, as a tangible copy, or because you want to read the story, or both?
Because for that $150, you could buy the Roger Stern SPIDER-MAN OMNIBUS and get that story plus about a thousand more pages of Spidey by Roger.
On the other hand, one way to find a more affordable copy might be to search for one without the Tattooz that were included in a few books that month as a promotion. Without those, the price should be much more manageable.
Good luck!
