Years ago, you used to be a lot more open when you disagreed with or disliked something at Marvel. That seemed to change around the time of New Avengers-- nowadays it is very unusual to see you openly criticize anything Marvel, and it's always couched in diplomatic language. Was there a conscious decision at some point to be more of a "team player"?

I think this probably has a lot more to do with the fact that, as I became more prominent within the editorial staff, I started to have more say over these decisions–I was involved with them. So even when a decision is made that I don’t completely agree with, I was part of the process of getting there, and had the opportunity to have my say and try to convince people of a different course of action (or potentially to have come up with the course of action that we’re taking.) So it’s a lot harder to publicly disagree with decisions that one is coming up with.
