  • Hey Tom, love following you on this thing. Looking at the fallout from Apple giving away a U2 record I feel it gives a lot of credence to the "cheaper comics do not sell" theory. Being older and a U2 enthusiast, I have little desire to listen to this free record, as it feels like a short-sell. If it is of quality the why is it free? Loving SHE-HULK, the Spider-Mans, The state of Marvel Cosmic and the TIME RUNS OUT books. Great to hear that Vision has a prominent roll.

We had the same sort of phenomenon happen back when Brian Bendis started writing the Oral History of the Avengers as bonus content in AVENGERS and NEW AVENGERS after the last price hike. Other books went up in price without the bonus material, and nobody complained about them particularly. But we consistently got notes from readers telling us to get rid of those back-ups and reduce the price–not getting that the price increase was happening regardless of the additional content. And then, when those back-ups eventually wrapped up, people just stopped talking about the price.

Human beings are wired strangely sometimes.
