A lot of writers & artists seem to prove themselves at Image before they come to marvel, but not many seem to come from IDW. Is that something I imagined, or is there a professional rivalry like the one between marvel & DC?

No, not at all. We’ll take new writers in from wherever they come from. It may just be easier for them to get noticed at Image at this point.
