  • How come DC and Image can publish titles for 2.99 (and 3.50 in Image's case too) on better quality paper than Marvel's 3.99 comics which are published on a terrible quality paper?

Because they’re more willing to lose money on a title than we are?

Look, I cannot speak with authority on what guides the decision-making process at DC and Image. What I can tell you is what guides the decision-making process at Marvel.

At Marvel, every book needs to hold its own, to pay for its own way. There is very little charity here. And so, our books are priced at what we need to price them at in order to have a reasonable chance of success and allow them to cover their nut.
