  • Is political correctness more important than profit? I do love the idea of more female lead characters in comics like Spider-Woman and Elektra, but for some reason I simply can't see them doing as well as ... in my opinion some other missed opportunities could have. For example: UNCANNY AVENGERS is one of the hottest Marvel books right now and I would have much rather spent my money on Horsemen spin-offs, to learn more about their role in the story, than reading Elektra.

Well, you’re one reader, and you speak for you and your tastes, but not everybody’s tastes.

And did you buy DAKEN when he had a book? Did you buy the SENTRY limited series? So the context in which you’re interested is, in all probability, relatively narrow.

This is why we publish a wide variety of comics featuring a range of characters and drawn in all sorts of styles–so that there’s something to potentially appeal to everybody. It’s not political correctness, it’s simply good business.

And again–not every comic book is for every reader.
