Isn't Fialkov doing something new in the X-Line? That sure seems like the rape and pillaging of the line to me... Although, I would like to see X-Men more integrated with the rest of the MU outside of events and the occasional Avenger. They do seem so isolated to the rest of the world, but I think that's because the Avengers line EXPLODED and it's almost like if you aren't lumped into the X-Men you're most likely are associated with the Avengers in some capacity.
