It's not an issue of him having abilities a normal person does not (as in your Spidey example) its that the abilities he has directly negate the challenges and obstacles faced by people who are blind. A better example would be Oracle being given the ability to walk via an incantation or some other power. It's using the power to cancel out the disability, so you get points for having a disabled character without any of the nuance or depth of actually portraying them as such.
