  • As someone who is open to change, have a question: Thor, historically, is a male character, always has been. When the idea came up to make such a drastic change to a character who is not only a comic/cinematic icon, but a character who i has been a literal god, how did y'all arrive at this conclusion? I know these aren't rash ideas that just pop up, I have to assume that this was a lengthy discussion, what made the change to woman the right choice?
    woah-my-gosh

You’re coming at this from the wrong perspective, I’m afraid. We didn’t start with, “Hey, let’s make somebody else Thor! Now who could that be?” Rather, Jason came in with a story, and outgrowth of stuff he was already doing, and he and his editor presented it to us. So it was never a question of “Who should be Thor”, it was always a question of “Is this a worthwhile storyline to pursue.” And it was.
