  • Why do you think the Fantastic Four haven't taken off as a franchise series the same way Spider-Man, Avengers, or X-Men books have? Besides the FF sister book there haven't been many spin off books. Is there so little love for Marvel's First Family?

    FANTASTIC FOUR did take off as a franchise.

    Every book in the Marvel line is a franchise expansion of FANTASTIC FOUR.

    It’s just that, in the 1960s, they tended to do this stuff differently than we do it today.

    But X-MEN was created specifically in response to publisher Martin Goodman’s desire for “Another FANTASTIC FOUR.”
