  • You replied to someone saying the previews don't help sell comics which I will say isn't true. I'm picking up the Original Sin: Thor & Loki book because of the preview and I got other books like New Avengers, Elektra and Daredevil because the Previews look good. Previews are the reason why all the Image books I read are on my pulls.

Well, I’m glad that’s the case. But what I said was that I don’t think that those Previews affect the sales in any tangible amount. They might sell a few extra copies (or prevent the sales of a few extra copies), but it’s the cost-benefit ratio that I’m interested in. If we’re selling relatively few extra copies but making the reading experience a little bit less satisfying for a broad number of our readers, then they’re probably not worth doing–or not worth doing on every issue of every single title. I can’t imagine, for example, that we lost any sales on ORIGINAL SIN #5 by not having a preview up–and I have to imagine that the reading experience was a little bit better, since most readers would have no idea what was coming when they opened the book, and three or four additional pages that were all-new content to them.
