Given the relatively small proportion of comic fans active online (in a comic sense at least), how big a difference do you think coverage on comics newsites (Newsarama, CBR etc.) makes to sales of Marvel books? And, although Bleeding Cool is hardly a newsite, given its comparatively large readership, how much of an impact do you think its stories have? Citing the recent FF nonsense as an example, it does seem to set a lot of the online comic agenda. Does this matter?

Everything helps in the abstract. But how much? Who knows? I don’t tend to think that a site like Bleeding Cool has a tremendous effect on the sales numbers of a particular book.

But if Rich wants to prove me wrong, let’s see him propel, say, AVENGERS #35 to ROCKET RACCOON #1 sales levels…

Regardless, anything that gets your message out is worthwhile, because it potentially attracts the attention of a few more readers and gets them interested.
