This is by far the best "prequel-ish" groundwork/origin tale ever done in Spider-Man's longstanding history. Marvel has reworked that origin countless times, usually w/ a retcon of the previous tinkering- Slott's current take is flawless, the art is a contemporary update of the original work & nothing feels old-hat/dated.
