  • Why are Marvel so often in denial about stuff that doesn't work? For example, the new iterations of Thunderbolts and Nova (which don't seem to even excite the creators considering how they've gone through 3 writers each in a year). I certainly won't attribute it to you, I remember when there was fan backlash to the George Perez Giant Man redesign and it was changed to his old Goliath look within 10 issues. But it seems nowadays, Marvel are reluctant to admit they might be wrong about something?

That Giant-Man costume wasn’t changed because of any fan backlash. It was changed because neither Kurt nor I were wild about it, and the opportunity arose when Carlos began to noodle on AVENGERS FOREVER.

I would counter your first argument, though, by asking why fans can sometimes be in denial about what does work simply because it isn’t to their tastes? Not every comic is for every reader.
