  • I'm new to the blog, so sorry if this or something like it has been asked before. What were your thoughts on Lowe's "Marvel: The Untold Story"? There was a lot of interesting trivia and objective info that I absolutely loved. But there was also this constant sense of his bias for or against different people in the history/business, which annoyed the hell out of me.

    Anybody who tells any story is going to have some degree of bias. Any story you hear from me is going to be my subjective account–as true as I can make it, but limited by my own perceptions and biases. That’s the nature of the beast, any beast in this instance.

    I thought it was a good book. I don’t know that it truly 100% captures the Marvel that I know and lived through, but I don’t know that any book can ever do that. And it felt relatively objective to me–you can tell what creators Sean has a particular love for, but that doesn’t materially impact on the recounting all that much.
