Hey Tom! I love your little layout doodles for the ORIGINAL SIN covers, but it got me wondering - how often do editors suggest cover art vs the pencil or creative team? Is it more for big events or is it a case-by-case thing?
The editor almost always suggests the cover concept, typically in concert with the writer. They don’t always do a little sketch like these, but sometimes they do. And then, the artist in question goes of and produces their own sketch(es), a final image is decided upon, and then the cover is drawn.
