Mr. Brevoort, what's your opinion about capes on modern superhero costumes? I feel like nowadays they are a bit outdated and old-fashion. I mean batman's cape is cool and makes him darker and scarier, but let's be honest it is not super practical when fighting crime... What about Thor? I think some people does not even notice he has one.... I also think that Superman costume is really outdated, but that is REALLY a subjective opinion...

This is one of those threads that it’s better not to pull on, I think.
No super hero costume in existence is remotely practical.
Every super hero costume is inherently silly on some level.
So you either go with it, you embrace the fantasy, or you don’t.
(But ugly is ugly–and there have been some ugly costumes, practical or not.)
It takes something like 24 different capes of different lengths and consistencies to get Batman on film for a few hours.
