When it comes to the discussion of killing a more prominent character, what factor takes priority between an amazing, top quality story of death and the potential to tell other good/great stories in the near future? How much does a characters role in the larger marvel universe affect the decision to tell a possible blockbuster ?
An amazing top-quality story will always win out. If the potential to tell other stories was ever a huge factor, no character would ever be killed off under any circumstances, because the potential of any of these characters to do that is infinite. We don’t kill characters off willy-nilly, but neither are we afraid to shake up the status quo or to go without a given character if that makes for interesting stories both for us and for teh readership.
