  • As a fan of continuity I relish what I've read in the past and how the newer stories respected what was told before them. Sure there have been some writer/editor mishaps not doing their homework. We're all human. Marvel distanced themselves from everyone else because the fans cared more for their characters. With that said I am a bit discouraged when I see new spins on events that took place ages ago. Someone else got bit by the same spider as Peter Parker? Really?? Tony Stark, adopted? Really??

You speak as though this is somehow something new, though, when we’ve been doing stories of this sort for decades now. “There was a different Captain America in the 1950s?” “Mary Jane knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man from the very start?” “There was a Thor and an Asgard before the ones we know?” And so on.
