  • With Free Comic Book Day last weekend I have to wonder--is FCBD dying? Not from a fan perspective, crowds were HUGE at the stores I went to, but it seems Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse offer fewer titles each year. Since FCBD is NOT free for the publishers or the stores do you think, after 12 years, the idea is starting to wind down? (I'd hate to see it happen but without great titles to bring people out I don't see it sustaining)

Marvel offered the same number of titles–two–that we always offer, so I’m not sure where this perception is coming from.

At least in my local area, Free Comic Book Day was a mob scene, to the point where people had to line up and wait outside so as to not violate the fire safety codes for the building. So based on that, I think it’s only an idea that’s continuing to grow.
