There's no "but" or "in that context." Hitting someone you're in a relationship with is abuse. Spider-Woman slapped her friend-boy twice and only stopped when he physically stopped her. If he had cheated and he had slapped her then we'd be faced with Avengers-wide horror like there was when Hank hit Jan. It was abuse.
