Whatever happened to Jill Stacy? I remember reading the Spider-Man comics at that time and enjoying them. Any chance that she might return? I thought she was a nice character and a good connection to Gwen.

She faded away after the writers on the series changed. Presumably, she returned to England. And she could re-appear at any point if a creator had a story that had merit to it.
