  • Amazing Spider-Man 1 says that Peter was bit 13 years ago, since Peter has consistently been said to be 15 in his origin, that makes him explicitly 28. Doesn't Marvel usually prefer to keep years and ages vague? 28 is dangerously close to 30, the threshold of youth, and Spider-Man is suposed to be a youth relatable character. Marvel will never let Spider-Man be 30, so making him that close to 30 might not be a good idea.

    The passage of time has made him that old. It’s been “13 years” since the birth of the FANTASTIC FOUR for about a decade and a half now. As you say, we don’t typically call it out so directly–but in this instance Dan, for story reasons, chose to do so.
