New Brevoort Formspring

I have not followed Nick Fury of late since at least New Avengers vol.1 and Secret Wars III , and I am a little confused over the use of Nick Fury from the movies on some comics like Uncanny Avengers and Captain America, I get the marketing logic behind it but when does it leaves the old Nick Fury?, could you tell me how the traditional Nick will work as a sort of detective in ORIGINAL SIN? thanks.
