  • Hi Tom, I noticed the preview for NEW AVENGERS #17 says to read AVENGERS #28 before I read it. However, I'm not a regular AVENGERS reader anyway. Will I be lost without it, or is it nice-to-have? And I know they're sister titles, but are they going to become more intertwined? A person at my store said I was already missing bits because I wasn't reading AVENGERS, which I find a LITTLE unfair.

If you’re reading both AVENGERS and NEW AVENGERS, you should read AVENGERS first this month. If you’re just reading NEW AVENGERS, you should be fine.

But yes, as we’ve said all along, both of these titles are going to become more and more intertwined the deeper we get into the story. After ORIGiNAL SIN, they’re virtually going to be the same book. It’s all one massive story, being laid out in multiple places.
