Mr. Brevoort, most of the first reviews of the movie: The Amazing Spider-man 2, say one interesting thing: the movie is more about Peter then about Spidey, and THESE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THE BEST SPIDER-MAN STORIES. This made me think... If this is true, than it undermines the comic quite a bit don't you think? It is supposed to be a superhero comic book. Personal Peter Parker moments are in 2 - 5 pages within each book. Does this means that everything else is plain? What do you think?

I think you’re missing the forest for the trees here.
The best Spider-Man stories are about Peter Parker. I’d totally agree with that.
That means that the life and situations and problems of being Peter conflict with the life and problems and situations of being Spider-Man.
But Peter is the lead character. Spider-Man is Peter Parker in a mask.(As opposed to Batman, for whom, one can argue, Bruce Wayne is Batman in a mask.)
