"Do events attract new readers?" Retailer friend chiming in here: It depends on how you define "event". Something like Infinity or Forever Evil don't tend to bring in people who have never been in a store before but they do get existing customers who don't read a lot of Marvel or DC. The expectation is that it's a fun, high-end story to try with a good jumping on point. We do get new customers for those hyped "events" like the death of a character. If they're not speculators, they come back.
