I'm confused… the fill-in issue came out, like, a week after the Spencer issue? If it was an inventory issue, shouldn't it be held until the next month in case the book didn't meet the deadline? Don't get me wrong, I loved the issue, I'm just confused as to how it helped the book come out "on a more regular schedule".

The SUPERIOR FOES issues have been shipping late–the one that you talk about came out something like six weeks later than it was supposed to. So those fill-in stories were commissioned to get the book back on track, and that’s why those issues are shipping more rapidly.
