  • I obviously couldn't disagree more about Alan Moore and Swamp Thing. Did he take the context of a bunch of old stories and retroactively add all new facets to them that completely changed the original context? Sure, but he didn't ignore the stories- he added to them. He didn't decide "oh I'll ignore all the other issues and make him a swamp elemental," he had the character discover it through a series of events. Maybe you and I read different issues? Are you on earth Z or something?

    By his own admission, Alan Moore’s SWAMP THING premise disregarded all of the previous stories in which Swamp Thing was turned back into Alec Holland–including the one done by Swampy’s creators Len Wein and Berni Wrightson.

    Not saying he was wrong to do so, far from it. But you can’t change the fact that Moore did exactly what we’re talking about.
