  • An average week for books, nothing really stood out. people seemed more excited for my Moon Knight re-order than anything else. Daredevil was a big let down since it was the same as the other issues before it with just a #1 on the cover. Seems odd that Marvel would be angry that stores are not over ordering these issues when it is the same song and dance, over and over again.

Angry isn’t the word, really, disappointed is more the word. When we have to go back for another printing on so many titles so soon, that’s an indication that retailers in general didn’t order enough initially to satisfy demand. It’s a good problem to have, but a better problem would be to have greater initial orders to have to fulfill.

Sorry that you felt DAREDEVIL was a let-down. But I don’t think you can be too surprised that it was much the same, given that it’s the same creative team–the one that’s won Eisner awards for their work on that series. What’s changed is the storyline and the venue, and that seemed to be enough to justify us giving the book a new #1 and maybe getting some more attention for a top-quality series that hadn’t benefited from being a part of the previous MARVEL NOW. But in your store, for your customers, maybe that didn’t fly.
