  • "Make better books"? I'm also a retailer and my story is the opposite of the one you responded to. My customers can't get enough of the Marvel books (a common complaint is that they need to pick and choose) whereas the DC books continuously decline in sales. Is there an opposite of "buzz"? Because that's what the DC books have in my shop. People really like that each Marvel book tries to fill it's own niche and is creatively different. So, mileage varies.

Definitely so, and obviously I love hearing your story more than that other guy’s. But I need to listen to both of them, all of them, really, because the readership and audience in each store all across the world does tend to be different. It’s one of the things that can make it difficult for us to make all of you retailers happy at the same time. What works for you may not work for that other fellow, and vice versa.
