Hi there. I understand the mindset of the "new volumes" in recent months when there's been any change in creative, but I just want to offer this mindset I know I'm not alone in, although it may be the minority. Some readers find it easier to drop a book when it "relaunches" than holding on for completion sake. For example, today I went to the store and decided to not carry over Avengers Arena and Wolverine And The X-Men; I loved both predecessors, but figured I'd leave it with the changes.
I think that’s totally true–but it’s also a risk that we’re willing to take whenever we do this. As we’ve seen on other titles, simply continuing along with the same numbering isn’t enough to guarantee that a book is going to be able to sustain itself.
