  • Tom, I've read in some online forums that Marvel doesn't give it's creators royalties/incentives beyond the 'first quarter' sales and absolutely no foreign royalties. With Marvel usually being number one in sales and making literally billions on it's properties in other media, why can't Marvel pay it's creators as long as their work is in print since if it wasn't making a profit, it wouldn't BE in print? My understanding is that DC pays incentives as long as it is in print.

    A forum such as this one isn’t an appropriate place for me to discuss the specifics of our contracts and deals such as this–other that to say that your information is in error. When we publish it, creators get paid for it.
