The hatred of mutants is irrational within the context of the Marvel universe because people hate people who are born with powers but not people who gain powers through other means, how can they even tell them apart? Also, after decimation there were more non-mutant supervillains than there were mutants, yet mutants were still hated more. If they hated all superhumans equally it would be less irrational.
