I was wondering if editors are judged on there writing skills at all. Have you or Axel ever written any well known books? I personally think you and Axel are one hell of a team to cone up with Marvel Now and so many books ,but how would Brian Michael Bendis or Rick Remender be in your situation? In that respect Geoff Johns is a great writer no doubt but does that equate to good editing skills? I mean besides the new 52 books he and a handful of writers have written all the others have failed.

Writing and editing are two completely different skills, the fact that they both involve text and copy notwithstanding. Could an editor be a writer? Possibly. It’s happened before, in the past, with a bunch of guys who’ve made that transition. could a writer be an editor? Again, possibly. And that’s happened before as well. But the two jobs are not interchangeable, they require different skill sets and different aptitudes.
