Recently Marvel started referring to Scott Lang as Ant-Man and Hank Pym as just Hank Pym(If I'm wrong please correct me). Considering the future Ant-Man movie would it be safe to say that when someone says Ant-Man in a comic they mean Scott Lang? I ask because my introduction to the character was as Hank Pym, so I was hoping you end the confusion for me. Thank you again for answering our questions.
I’m not sure it’s ever entirely possible to end confusion when multiple characters have used the same costumed identity.
Right this moment, Scott Lang is Ant-Man. But it wouldn’t be inappropriate for Hank Pym to break out his Ant-Man gear if the circumstances called for it. And Eric O'Grady is still out there as well, these days as Black Ant, but potentially another guy who could turn up wearing the Ant-man’s colors.
So no, somebody talking about Ant-Man in a story doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re referring to Scott. It all depends upon the context of what is being said and who the speaker is.
Which is a lot more complicated to deal with, but there you go.
