Quick(?) question: For the first time in over 25 years, I've subscribed to a comic (Moon Knight--go Ellis & Shalvey!). How are subscription mailings handled? What I'm looking for is if they're mailed on the "street date" for the comics, or if they're mailed so they're estimated to be delivered on the street date. In other words, I was a sad, bald panda when I got home yesterday and Moon Knight wasn't in the mailbox.
Subscription copies are manufactured at the same time as all other copies, and need to wend their way through their distribution system at the same time that they’re going through the main distribution system to get to the Direct Market. So they’re always going to take a little bit more time to get to you than for the book to reach your local shop–probably not more than a few days, but except under very strange conditions, always a few days later.
