  • Why does a book like Avengers A.I. get canceled but Bendis Icon work gets to stick around? You guys let him get away with too much in my opinion.

    Icon books are creator-owned, so they’re not contributing to our bottom line, and they’re completely under the control of their creators. So long as those creators want to do them and find the time to do so, they’ll come out. They’re not really Marvel books at all, they’re books that Marvel publishes, if you see the difference.

    So it’s not a matter of letting anybody get away with anything, it’s a matter of Bendis being more hard-working and diligent about getting his Icon books to market than other folks.
