    You must have missed all of the industry articles talking about how “risky” the casting was, and how Marvel was going to try to do the impossible with all of the “crummy” leftover characters it had left, having already optioned off Spidey and the X-Men. People forget how much Iron Man served to reset Downey’s career and make him a bankable star as opposed to a huge insurance risk.
