It’s the double-edged sword of comics. We love them for their fantasy and imagination, but especially as we get older (and want our entertainment choices to be taken seriously by other people) we worry about certain aspects of them being too silly. And here we are.
I remember one of the meetings we had where it was decided that we’d kill Hawkeye during AVENGERS DISASSEMBLED, one of the points that was raised was that it was ridiculous that somebody could take on criminals packing automatic weapons with a bow and arrow. And the rejoinder was that a blind man doing the same thing with a billy club was more plausible?
