I like continuity. It's part of the equity that a book builds over time; the cumulative effects of experiences. But the Fantastic Four as I first discovered them wasn't the same comic that hooked the previous generation. So though I regret that I don't want to read the modern book any more (the characterizations just seem totally "off" to me) I'm glad it's as fresh and interesting to a new generation of readers as they were to me in the 80s. It's selfish to wish otherwise, you know?
I do indeed. The wheel turns, and things change.
