Hi there, for years now, a main thing seems to have been to posit the heroes and big players against one another (Civil War and pretty much everything since until the Heroic Age). With what Hickman seems to be building towards, it looks like we might get some sort of 'Civil War reloaded'. I am actually looking forward to that and think it can be very interesting, if well done, but I've seen loads of criticism along the lines of 'that's the cheapest way of creating excitement'. Your opinion? Thx!

I don’t think it’s cheap if you buy into the actions of the characters–if you can understand the drives and points of view that bring them into conflict. And it’s far less contrived than having all of these characters getting along and agreeing on every action, especially when things get into areas of difficult morality.

Plus, one of the hallmarks of the Marvel style going back to Stan Lee is that hero would fight hero. It became a cliche, and was sometimes (often) not terribly well motivated after awhile, but that was another way in which the stories Stan and company were doing were less cookie-cutter and more realistic than everybody else’s.
