Thanks for your reply about inventory stories. Do those reasons also contribute to the lack up team-up titles (MTU, MTIO, and A+X) today? Buyers would think these stories won't count towards continuity. It must be very difficult to set up a series of team-ups as an "event" and most readers would look for significant character development to occur in the team-up stars' individual comics. Still, I miss that type of book, one month Spidey is working with the Human Torch, the next it's Man-Thing...
Yes, that is a fundamental problem with doing a regular team-up series, for the same reasons cited earlier. The nature of the distribution model has changed, and the new conditions do not favor a team-up series, for all that there’s a certain amount of nostalgia towards the concept.
