  • You were talking about X-Men being more accepted by the readers as teambooks. But what about books like X-Men Legacy, that still tell a team story but focusing more on one character and their POV than the rest? If I recall correctly, it was really successful when it had a beloved character, like Rogue, front and center. So why couldn't we have more books of the kind, like a solo series in disguise?

I suspect that one of the reasons that X-MEN LEGACY worked was that it was X-MEN LEGACY–a title continuing the numbering run of a regular X-MEN title that had been published for many, many years. Not the only reason, mind you, but the thing that gave it a leg up. So given that, it either means that you need to convert all of the assorted team books into stealth solo books, or you need to go out there without the benefit of that advantage–which very likely won’t be any more successful than just giving the series a solo title.
