Everything coming out of DC lately has been so confusing and their stories feel strangled. Gail Simone is easily one of DC's most talented writers and Batgirl reads like one of their flattest titles. No way is that her fault, she has so much heart for the character... What I'm getting to here is, what's the biggest difference between Marvel's editorial process and most other publisher's processes?
I can’t really speak to other people’s process, as I’m not involved in it. At Marvel, we try to Define The Mission, hire creators whom we think can carry out the mission, and then support them as best we can. I ’m sure other companies would say much the same, though, so it may be the way we go about it that’s the difference.
