  • What was it that inspired Marvel to remake Earth X and present it as if it's a new original story? Why not remake some other stories too? You've already done Dark Phoenix Saga to death, but why not remake Beyond!, The System Bytes and The Collection Obsession for a new audience who you think are too oblivious to recognize you're completely rehashing your own ideas and shoot down anyone who notices the unoriginal stories with nothing but a pithy sarcastic brush-off?

In the broadest possible terms, sure, there is a similarity. But EARTH X and INHUMANITY are not the same story, not even close.

At the point where you’re that broad in your definition, you need to start eliminating stories in which Spider-Man battles criminals, or the Fantastic Four explore the Negative Zone. A similarity of concept doesn’t mean that the stories are identical, not hardly. It’s as much about the execution of an idea as it is the idea itself. And both EARTH X and INHUMANITY build on ideas and concepts that were created earlier and existed before them, specifically the original Inhumans stories that set up their history and backstory.

Plus, ultimately, Marvel owns EARTH X–it’s our story, too, and we can choose to build on it just like any other piece of the Marvel cosmology if we so choose. And as in all cases, you’re welcome to read the new stories that we come up with, or not to as your interest determines.
