In real life people experience periods of change and periods of stagnation. I hope if the story is told well & it makes sense for the character more people will accept it, stop complaining so much and just enjoy the story. 'rant' over ;-)
Some will, certainly. But some won’t. It’s always been that way, though, so this is nothing new.
