  • With all respect, when you say things like that you make it sound like old-school readers are basically being put out to pasture - we're welcome to come along for the ride, but the books just are not for us anymore. Why can't you published *something* in the old school, for those of us who remember that Marvel published comic before 2005? You publish a lot of books, seems like there would have to be room there for something for readers with a longer attention span.

    Sorry, but you’re incorrect. Go back and read what I actually said, and put your emotions aside for a second. The problem with your reaction, i think, is that it turns on the notion that you want to be the central and only important generation to whom we cater what we do. And it’s fine for you to feel that way, but it would be bad business and borderline suicidal for us to do that. Our books are for readers of all stripes, and we publish a wide variety of material of all styles. But it’s possible that what we’re doing doesn’t appeal to you–and in that case, you’re justified in not reading. But it’s a fallacy to think that just because the older long-time audience isn’t the exclusive providence of the work we create that you’re not valued.
